multiple pto hydraulic pump drives Description: AM units consist of a 2-piece cast iron casing with case hardened spur gears and shafts. Pump drive rotation is opposite to input. The pump adaptors consist of interchangeable pump mountings and drive couplings providing great flexibility. There are 3 basic types of AM unit: AM-B for independent mounting or close coupling to engine by SAE housing and rigid or flexible coupling; AM-BD for close engine coupling with choice of over-centre clutch; AM-BDS for independent mounting with over-centre clutch. Selection: The unit must be selected taking account of the maximum input power and torque transmitted through BD and BDS clutch and AM unit. Also care should be taken to ensure that individual pump drive torques are not exceeded. AM-B & AM-BD units will require specific flywheel and housing types and AM-BDS units must not be subjected to radial loads on the input shaft. Data required for selection is available in published literature and advice concerning service factors relating to specific applications should be obtained from the jbj Techniques Limited technical department, telephone: 01737 767493 or email: info@jbj.co.uk Installation: AM units: The mountings must be in accordance with the recommended arrangements illustrated in our published literature. Type AM-B & AM-BD: Ensure that axial and radial alignment between clutch and engine are correct with satisfactory location of input shaft in the pilot bearing. Before assembly check that pilot bearing turns freely when fitted into flywheel recess. Type AM-BDS: take care to mount the unit with shaft axis horizontal and on common base with prime mover. Good alignment between drive coupling and input shaft should be achieved in order to avoid axial and radial loads on the input shaft. When fitting the coupling to the input shaft, special care should be taken. The coupling should extend beyond the shaft end so that when it is secured with bolt and washer (A) it makes contact with shaft shoulder (B). Coupling bore tolerance of N8 is recommended. Note: Coupling should be fitted to the input shaft by using securing bolt as axial shock loads are not permitted. Lubrication: AM units are supplied without oil. Before use fill to maximum mark on dipstick. Ep90 gear oil such as BP ENERGOL Cs150 is recommended. The lubricant must be replaced after the first 50-100 hours operation. Subsequent oil changes should be made every 1000-2000 hours or every 12 months whichever is the sooner. Check the oil level regularly. Cooling: The maximum oil temperature during continuous operation must not exceed 95°C. It is wise to check the temperature if in doubt. If required, oil cooling systems consisting of an oil circulation pump, heat exchanger and pipe fittings can be provided.
